Tripp~ 2 1/2 years

The past 6 months have really zoomed by with all our family has going on.  I'm sure that will continue to be the case for the rest of our lives so I try to be mindful of it and enjoy every moment...even the small ones.  Tripp is becoming such a wonderful little guy.  He honestly never ceases to amaze me as he grows.  I absolutely adore him.  I won't say this first 6 months of him being two hasn't been without it's challenges...that would be a lie...but, I will say he continues to be the sweet boy he's always been.

A few things about Tripp:
Is becoming more and more attached to his stuffed butterfly "butterfwhy".  He goes wherever Tripp goes. ~ Loves Thomas the Train.  He has about 10 trains that he likes to line up all over the house.  He gets a little upset if they don't all stay together. ~ Loves Dinosaurs.  "Dinosaur Train" is still one of his favorite shows to watch in the morning. He also likes "Super Why," "Sesame Street," and of course "Thomas and Friends" ~ Loves "Cars" and "Cars 2" movies. ~ Is becoming quite a picky eater.  This can be so frustrating to me at times.  One day he loves something, the next day he won't even try it.  Yogurt, chicken nuggets, mac 'n cheese, eggs, waffles/pancakes, cheerios, goldfish, milk, and water are usually a safe bet.  Everything else seems to be hit or miss.  I just tell myself this is only a stage and as long as I offer other foods, he will eventually try new things. ~ Sleeps from 7:30 or 8:00 pm to 7:30 am. ~ Naps from 1:00 or 1:30 pm until 3:30 or 4:00 pm. ~ Loves his teachers.  He calls them "Marfa Mandy" ( Ms. Martha and Ms. Mandy).  We are still working on adding the Ms. before their names. ~ Is excited to go to school every Tuesday and Thursday to see his teachers and new friends.  I hope he is always this excited about it. ~ ADORES his baby sister.  There is nothing sweeter than seeing the two of them together.  He knows just how to make her smile. ~ Knows all of his colors and shapes. ~ Counts to 10 and identifies his numbers easily. ~ Speaks in sentences.  This has really developed over the past 6 months.  His sentences are still choppy at times but they are becoming much smoother. ~ Loves to sing.  He's always singing the songs he learns at school.  I can't always tell what he's saying, but I love that he loves to sing. ~ Loves "soccer ball" (soccer practice).  He started taking classes over the summer and liked it so much, we've continued and are now in our 2nd "season".  He doesn't actually play games, it's more of a skills practice class. ~ Is starting to become more of an active participant during prayers. ~ Loves to read.  We read A LOT of books each day. ~ Has had many colds this fall.  We didn't have this problem last year, but being in school has provided plenty of opportunities for him to bring home a few respiratory viruses. ~ Wears 2T clothes.  Thank goodness for the adjustable waistbands.  Tripp seems to be so skinny right now because he doesn't eat as well when he's sick.  I don't blame him, but this momma will do anything to get some extra calories in him.  We've even switched back to whole milk for the time being. ~ Definitely gets upset when he doesn't get his way, but name a 2 year old that doesn't and I'll give you a million bucks. ~ Started sleeping in his big boy bed about a month before I had Camille.  He can get out if he wants.  We discovered this when assembling the bed, but so far he hasn't tried to do this at all.  He's now been sleeping in it for a little over 3 1/2 months. ~ Loves to color. ~ Loves stickers.  I have to be careful to take these off his clothes and bed sheets before washing them because they get stuck to everything and it's no fun to clean off sticker goo. ~ Gets so excited to go to the Aquarium.  The boy lives for the "dolphin show". ~ Will say "Give me my phone" when he wants to use our phones.  Don't worry, we are working on getting him to say "may I please use your phone?"  It's still a work in progress.  Plus, he's at an age where he thinks he owns everything. ~ Always has a good time in the bathtub. ~ Still loves to give hugs and kisses galore.

I thank God for this little booger.  He makes me a better person.
