Dying Eggs

Matt (my brother), Tripp, and I attempted to dye Easter Eggs this weekend.  I'm not sure if it was the best idea with a 2 year old, but it gave us something to do.  Tripp wasn't really into allowing the eggs to have sufficient time in the cups to actually change colors.  He's more of an instant gratification kind of guy.

Tripp did have fun decorating the eggs with stickers.

Tripp's "Monster Eggs".  I saved them for a few days afterward so Tripp could go back and look at his work.  Notice how splotchy some of the eggs are.  That's what you get with a 2 year old.  But, I will say he did a great job putting on the eyes and mouths.  Although, I may have helped a tad bit with the hair.

A Cranky Day

We met Katherine and Lyla at the zoo yesterday.  Tripp was in rare form in the morning, but I assumed getting him out of the house would help his mood.  I thought wrong.  He was completely cranky and clingy the entire time we were there.  I couldn't figure out why he was so ornery since he's usually so excited to see the animals.  I should have known something was up when he told me he was tired and declined, yes, DECLINED a train ride.  That's not like my child.  He's obsessed with trains.  My first thought was that he didn't sleep well the previous night. I didn't want to believe it could be anything else.  He was sick with a 48 hour virus last week, but that was a week ago.  I prayed he wasn't relapsing.

After lunch, we decided to walk back to the car since it was close to nap time.  The poor child didn't even look back as we exited. Normally, he cries that we have to leave.  I buckled him in the car seat and he fell asleep before we made it to the interstate.  When we got home, I pulled out my trusty thermometer to make sure he wasn't running a fever. Thankfully, his temp was normal.  Maybe we pushed it too much this week after being sick last week.  I'm not 100% sure, but just to be on the safe side, I think we might be lazy this weekend and hang out at home to recoup.

He was exhausted at lunch.

Up On All Fours

I know I'm constantly saying this, but it's crazy how quickly time flies with the second child.  Camille seems to learn a new skill every time I blink my eyes.  This week she started getting up on all fours.  It won't be much longer before she's crawling all over the place.  Say a prayer for me!
