Drumroll please...................
Here are Tripp's 15 month stats:
Weight: 23 lbs. 12 oz. ~ 39%
Length: 31.7 inches ~ 69%
Head Circumference: 19.1 inches ~ 85%
I love this growing boy! He did awesome at the Pediatrician even though he got not only one, but TWO vaccines. Yuck and I thought it was hard to watch him get vaccines as a newborn/infant. I think it only gets more difficult the older he gets. Unfortunately, it's a necessary evil...

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!!
Today, Tripp and I picked up Katherine and Lyla and headed to the Atlanta Zoo. It was both of the kids first time at the zoo and they LOVED it. When we first walked in, we immediately stopped at the first exhibit...the pink flamingos. I guess I haven't been to the zoo in ages because I did NOT remember how stinky those birds are. All I could think was...I'm glad I'm not pregnant right now because I'd be losing my breakfast!!! Even the big elephant, Kelly, smelled better than those pretty birds. ;)
And speaking of the elephant...Tripp really liked her from afar, but when she came closer to get her breakfast from the trainer, he cried a little and grabbed onto me very tightly. The good thing was that he got over his fear very quickly and even tried to stick his foot through the wires to get in with the giraffes and zebras.
Overall, we had a great day and neither child was fussy in the least. It was quite a miracle since we blew right through their morning naps. Some of Tripp's favorite animals were the warthogs, giraffees, monkeys, and goats. I can't wait for our next visit. I'm sure Tripp will continue to enjoy it more and more every time we go.

Suwanee Day and Grammy's
Rob, Tripp, and I had a great weekend despite the fact that I came down with a cold and it only got worse as the weekend progressed. To start the weekend off, Tripp and I met Katherine and Lyla at Sims Lake Park on Friday morning. The weather was absolutely perfect and we really enjoyed walking around the lake and chatting. After we left the park, Tripp and I went home to pick up Layla for her Vet appointment. The poor girl had to get several vaccines, but she was such a trooper. The pictures below are of Tripp at the office. Tripp was such a good boy the entire visit. When Dr. Wolczek and Melissa (the vet tech) were telling me how cute Tripp's shoes are, he sat down, stuck his foot in the air, and pointed at his shoes. What a cutie pie. He really loves being the center of attention.
Saturday, we stayed pretty busy starting with an 8.5 mile run on the Suwanee Greenway in the morning. I honestly have to say it was one of the best runs I've had in a long time. We originally set out to run 8 miles, but both felt really good and extended the run by half a mile. When we finished, I still felt great and probably could have run a little longer, but knew that wouldn't be smart. Plus, Tripp was so good the entire run and we wanted to give him a chance to stretch his legs before we went home and continued our busy day. This cute picture is of Rob and Tripp after the run. I took it with my iphone so I'm surprised it turned out so well!
We also spent part of the afternoon at the Suwanee Day festival. It was fun to walk around the booths and look at all of the crafts. Next year we want to stay, sit on the lawn, and listen to the band, but just didn't have time that day.
And, of course, no Saturday is complete without college football. That consumed part of our afternoon. Yay for the Bulldogs first win of the season against Coastal Carolina!
Sunday, we headed down to Griffin to spend time with Rob's mom, Claudia, for the afternoon. We ate, hung out, and watched a lot of football. Tripp had fun walking around her front yard.

Feeding the ducks
One of the best things about Suwanee is having a bunch of parks within a few minutes of our house. It's wonderful because whenever we go, Tripp runs around expending LOTS of energy...he then becomes very tired...which in turn makes him nap well...thus, making me a very happy Momma. :)
Lately, Tripp has been learning the names of different animals. His two favorite are duck and gog (dog). Whenever Rob and I go running at Sims Lake Park, we always point out the ducks and geese and Tripp will say duck, duck. I'm pretty sure he thinks that all bird-like animals are ducks, but I'm okay with that for now. The other day, Rob, Matt and I decided it would be fun to take some old bread to the park and let Tripp feed the ducks. He wasn't too sure about it at first, but eventually I was able to put him down.

Falling in love with Fall
Finally, the end of the summer is here and we can say goodbye to 90 degree temps. Lately, the weather has been perfect. Cool in the morning and evening and warm during the day. I'm even looking forward to a time when the afternoon temps stay in the upper 60s and lower 70s. It's all a reminder that fall is just around the corner...only a week and a half away, but who's counting? With fall comes football, cookouts, fall fashions, and a time to decorate the house in beautiful oranges, reds, and yellows. I'm definitely ready to welcome fall with open arms!
Once a quarter, four high school friends of mine and I get together for a Girls Night Out. I know we would all love to do it more often, but our schedules make it hard to committ to anything more frequent than that and we want everyone to be able to come. On Saturday, we all went to my friend Mindy's house for a potluck cookout with our husbands/boyfriends and children. Mindy's husband, Nick, smoked a Boston Butt on their Big Green Egg and it was DELISH with all of the other yummy sides everyone made. Mindy and Nick just redid their backyard and it looks awesome. They have so much room for their kiddos to run around and play. Rob and I already wanted to do some landscaping in our backyard, but seeing theirs really makes us excited to have ours graded so we can enjoy it even more. The only bad part of the evening was watching the Dawgs lose to South Carolina. Atleast the little ones looked handsome in their jerseys!
