Labor Day Weekend

It's crazy how quickly this past weekend flew by.  Our schedules were full and oh boy, we are sooooo tired, but thankful for a fun-filled weekend.  Saturday stared off with Rob, Tripp, and I getting up early for a run at Sims Lake Park.  Then, we all headed back home so I could shower and head to breakfast club.  A few girlfriends of mine and I get together on the first Saturday of every month for a little girl time.  We rotate houses and it's great to have a few hours of me time every now and then.  After breakfast club was over, I ran to the mall to get an outfit for the Georgia game.  I tried so hard to find something completely red since the theme was "Spread the Red" but was only able to find some red denim pants and a red skirt...both of which came home with me. :)  Georgia girls always dress-up for the football games.  There's no going to a game in a t-shirt and shorts.  Although, that may have been nice for some of those extremely hot games over the years!  I actually think it's tradition for all of the girls of the southern schools to dress-up and let's be honest, a great excuse to get some cute, new clothes.  So anyway, that night Rob and I headed down to the Georgia Dome to witness an awful game...and I mean AWFUL.  Boise State really kicked our butts and yes they are a great team, but frankly we played so poorly ANYONE could have picked us apart.  Oh well, I'm a Georgia girl and definitely bleed red and black so I'll support the team no matter what.  In fact, Rob and I stayed until the clock ran out.  A good fan never leaves until the game is over.  After the game was finished, we walked back to our car and sat in an unbelievable amount of traffic.  We pulled into our driveway at 1:07 am and I practically ran upstairs to get into the bed.  Did I mention I had to work on Sunday and my alarm clock was going to go off at 5:15 am?!?    I couldn't fall asleep well that night because I kept feeling like I would oversleep and miss my alarm.  Needless to say, I think I'm still recovering from my late night/early morning and it's now Tuesday.  Don't think I could do that very often, but it was worth it to support the best school in the world (even if we didn't win).  While I was at work Sunday, Rob and Tripp went to the Dragon Con Festival in downtown Atlanta.  Rob loved comic books growing up and was so excited to go to this event.  He went with our friends, the Attridges, and had a good time.  I was worried about Tripp not really napping all day since they left in the morning and didn't get home until late afternoon, but Rob said Tripp did great.  Tripp loved looking at all of the people dressed up and just kept pointing at everyone.  He did get scared when Rob tried to hand him to a robot-looking guy for a quick picture.  Tripp wasn't having any of that, but was otherwise pretty happy.  And that brings us to Monday, Labor Day.  Rob had to work, so Tripp and I went to the Lee's new house to hang out and play.  Ashley is one of my closest friends and we've known each other since we were young.  She has two boys, Brayden and Ashton.  Ashton is only 10 days youger than Tripp so they are perfect playmates.  I wish I had taken my camera out of the car because the boys were adorable playing with Brayden's new big boy mattress.  They kept bumping their heads on it and laughing...so cute.

The three of us before Rob and I left for the game.  Tripp stayed at home with my parents.
