Summer 2011

I can't believe it's already the middle of August.  The summer has flown by so quickly.  Rob, Tripp, and I have stayed super busy the past two months.  Here's a quick summary.  Tripp turned ONE and I went to St. Simons for a Girls Trip in June.  We spent some time on Lake Martin with family and then went to Hilton Head Island with friends in July.  In between Tripp's birthday and trips out of town, we have filled weekdays and weekends hanging out with friends, exercising, going to the pool, and entertaining the little man .  The entire month of June and into the beginning of July, Tripp was in an Infant Survival Swim Class.  The class required us to take Tripp to lessons Monday through Friday for 5 weeks.  It was definitely very time-consuming, but completely worth it.  Tripp can now float on his own and could easily get into that float if he were to accidently fall into any body of water.  Next year we will put Tripp in refresher courses and he will learn the swim-float-swim method.  It's one of the coolest things we've done with him and I would definitely recommend the class to anyone with young children.  It doesn't mean we won't have to watch him at the pool, lake, etc., but it gives us comfort to know that if he ever accidently falls in, he has the skills needed to get himself into a safe position while he waits for help.

Here are a few pictures from our summer.  They were taken over a 2 month span.
